“Intercultural Collaboration for Social Impact, Gender and Social Justice: Indian Perspectives on Strategies for Building Bridges Across Cultural Contexts and Working Effectively on Global Issues”

Facilitated by Aditi SALKAR

This interactive workshop explores how intercultural collaboration can strengthen collective action toward gender equity and social impact. Drawing from Indian perspectives and case studies, the session examines how culture, context, and lived experience shape our understanding of gender, equity, and justice in global partnerships.

Participants will engage in reflective dialogue and hands-on activities to unpack real-world challenges in cross-cultural collaboration such as navigating differing gender norms, addressing inequities in power dynamics, and integrating culturally relevant practices in program design. The workshop aims to foster shared learning across disciplines and geographies, encouraging participants to co-create practical strategies for inclusive, equitable collaboration.

By grounding discussions in both local realities and global frameworks, the session bridges theory and practice, inviting participants to rethink how gender equity and social impact can be pursued collectively across cultures.

Objectives:

  • To explore Indian perspectives on intercultural collaboration and social justice.
  • To identify effective strategies for building equitable global partnerships.
  • To strengthen participants’ capacity for culturally intelligent, gender-responsive action.
